About me; Jan Karlqvist

In the year 1973 I was a 20 years young gay and design me first program for the Intel 4004. A simple program to add two digits and output the result on the TTY terminal. I remember the problem with the SRC instruction,  which I think everyone remember who as been programming the Intel 4004.

At this time we have no assembler, -we where time sharing connected by satellite Stockholm to a computer central in Ohio USA to assemble my first program for the Intel 4004.

Now as the "Time Flies" and I have been working to designing a lot products with different brands and type microcomputers. Th elist can be long but the short one looks like this: Intel 4004, 8080, 8748, 8085, 8051, Zilog Z80, Motorola 6800, 6809, 68000, RCA 1802, National SC/MP and now current Microchip. (what type will be the next... Texas... I had a game computer with the TI9900...)

Why this intrestning of digital logic and computers. The answer is easy. -My father Olle Karlqvist. I was member at the swedish Matematikmaskinsnämden which design the two first computers in Sweden BARK and BESK. Olle Karlqvist is also discovery (1954) the Karlqvist field (flux) and his publication "Calculation of the magnetic field in ferromagnetic layer of a magnetic drum" here you can download the publication.
